Health, young people and coffee machines

As coffee use has increased around the world, a percentage of the coffee drinking population have become interested in creating a gourmet coffee experience at home. There are many different ways to create a coffee beverage, ranging from the simple and quick to the more complex and refined.
After getting used to espresso coffee in cafes and restaurants, many young people in particular are no longer happy with instant or drip coffee when they are at home. This has led to a sharp rise in coffee machine products, which cater for a number of different budgets and tastes. People are becoming less interested in the cheap and quick instant coffee experience, with many people realising that convenience is not everything. Coffee is not just coffee, and there are variations both in the quality of the beans and the way that the final beverage is prepared. The first step on the way to developing a good coffee is in the roasting process, which is normally a multi-part procedure. After the coffee beans are picked and the flesh of the berry is removed, the beans are fermented and washed to create a dried product that is easy to work with. The beans are then roasted, which normally takes place before sale but can also be done at home as well. Only the dedicated coffee aficianado will concern themselves with their own roasting however, with most people happy enough to buy pre-roasted beans and simply perform their own brewing.

Young people are often advised to drink decaffeinated coffee beverages, and this decaffeination procedure normally takes place at the time of roasting. Decaffeination occurs when the beans are still green, through the use of boiling water, solvents or other products. Once the coffee beans have been sold to the consumer, there are a number of ways to prepare them into the final drink. Coffee beans need to be ground down with a dedicated grinding machine or a capsule coffee maker (Kapsel Kaffeemaschine) , the best of which can grind to a number of different coarsness levels. Coffee can either be boiled, steeped or pressurised to create the final drink. The boiling method is the simplest and is as it sounds. A combination of boiling and gravity feeding occurs in percolators and automatic drip-style coffee makers.

For a top quality cafe style coffee, many people are buying an espresso machine for their own home. Espresso coffee works by forcing hot but not boiling water through coffee grounds in order to create a concentrated and well presented drink. Espresso machines were not often seen in home environments, but this is changing fast. Many homes now have a quality coffee machine in their own kitchens, giving them the chance to experience convenient and professional quality coffee whenever they want.
